Liberty Nickels. Minted from 1883 to 1912. Nicknamed the Racketeer Nickel because the first ones issued in 1883 did not have the word "Cents" on the back and some were gold plated and passed off as $5.00 gold pieces in the old West. Because of this, the design was changed later in 1883 to include the word "Cents" on the back (reverse) side. Every group we offer includes one of the first issue "No Cents" varieties, and one Shield Nickel (minted just before the Liberty nickel, from 1866 until 1883), plus a variety of dates.

40 Coins - $59.

100 Coins - $129.

500 Coins - only $485.

The first year of issue (like the 1883 Liberty Nickels), features 2 different varieties. The first coins issued feature the Bison standing on a raised mound, the second type, on a flat plain.
